The Macinaia

A small building complex used as a wine cellar, on the edge of the Sienese Chianti area. The winery of the La Macinaia farm covers an area of about 500 square meters and consists of two distinct adjacent buildings, built around the central service area. The project by the architect Sante Bonitatibus, focused on an area between the extensive areas of the business given over to vineyards, in a dominant position with respect to the development of the vineyard rows. The buildings were constructed completely underground, exploiting, through the section, the natural unevenness of the ground; and slightly rotated relative to each other, in order to accommodate the curvature of the hill.
